He has always felt that facilities like emergency medical evacuation and insurance cover should be available to the general public (common man in India) also as in the western countries. In the broad concept, rescue and medical evacuation means, rescuing a person from an accident spot or transferring a patient who has suffered a heart attack or stroke to a major hospital before the ‘golden hours” are over and give the necessary treatment and save him. For this, a rotary wing aircraft will be more suitable because it can land in a near by open place near the spot of the accident and then transfer him to the nearest specialty hospital. By this procedure, time spent on protocol for embarking & disembarking from an airport can be avoided. Thus air transportation of patient by charter aircraft/helicopter from places in South India will not only be life saving but also cost effective.
